No more fear

When I become fearful I acknowledge the fear, pray against it, and then listen to something that will motivate me to move forward. Sometimes it is the word of God or a motivational speaker. For some, it may be a song. Then I begin to move forward. After whatever I have listened to, to help me get my mind in a better space I can start looking at the plan I have written down and begin moving forward in life again.

It is easy to get stuck in fear or to become non-motivated. Everything in this world says it is better to stay where you are. It is easier if you do not try. What if I fail and I lose it all?

However, we have to keep pressing forward. I have never known someone to reach the other side and it be a loss. I have never heard someone say I gave all I had and failed. Something amazing is bound to come from your efforts even if it is not the exact plan you started with. Just do not quit. Do not give up.

We cannot allow our negative thoughts, our negative self-talk, and our fear which is an emotion, to determine our outcome, or our situation, or to rule over us. Fear like any other emotion, comes and goes. One day you are happy, one day you are scared and one day you are sad, the next day you are angry and another day you are happy. I mean come on, who wants to live like that. Someone did something to you to make you feel…

Are you giving people control over you now? ok so first, let’s not do that. We have to be in control over our own emotions if we are going to beat any type of mental illness. Let’s work on that first. Learn to control your own emotions. You decide when to be happy, you decide if you will have a good attitude and a wonderful day or not. If you have a “bad day” it is because you chose to have a bad day.

When my husband and I were dating he would say he took a call at work and the caller was nasty and rude and it ruined his whole day. I was like really! Your whole day? It is only 8:30 am and your whole day is ruined? Yes! he would exclaim. That was very disturbing to me. He also dealt with anxiety really bad. When we first got married we got into a really bad heated disagreement and one time he said to me “Because of you, I had an anxiety attack”! I chuckled a little which made him even more angry but I chuckled because I understood how to not let my emotions rule me and for years I tried to explain that to him, but he thought this was a normal thing and was ok with having bad anxiety.

Anxiety is a part of life and some have it more intense than others. I once had a panic attack at the doctor’s office. my blood pressure went sky-high and I couldn’t catch my breath, nurses were running into the room, and the doctor was telling me I had to calm down or I was going to stroke out. That was 3 years ago, I have never experienced anything like that before and I haven’t since then. At that point, I did not have control over my emotions. I allowed fear to rule me. So, there are situations, however, for it to govern my life and to live life in fear and not to try to better myself. I can’t see it.

Emotions can be a beast to control. All kinds of situations occur that can make our emotions go wild. This is why we have to learn to meditate on the word of God and know his promises for our lives. We have to pray and ask for His Holy Spirit to lead and guide us, we have to distance ourselves from the things or situations that set our anxiety off.

Let’s work on that this week! Anytime you begin to feel fearful or something happens to make your anxiety or panic attack flare. Speak to yourself and bind that fear or situation. listen to something that calms you and that will bring you back to yourself. Do whatever it is you have to do to regroup. This is something you will have to work on daily, however, you can overcome this. How long it takes is up to you.

We should not be a slave to fear. We are children of God. Romans 8:15.
